Simple Bulletin Board

Hi Stampers!  Today is Thursday, and you know what that means!  Yep, another blog challenge :) For today's challenge, Dawn wanted us to make a Big Shot project.  Well, I have had this little bulletin board for a couple months and thought this would be a good time to do something with it!

The colors I used are Very Vanilla, Baja Breese, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.  I feel almost guilty submitting this for a "challenge" because it was so easy!  The Big Shot (113439) makes creating anything a breeze!  To make the letters, I used the Naturally Sherif Die (113453).

The flower was made using the Flower Daisies #2 Die (114520).  For the center of the flower, I simply added the acrylic bubble top from the Build A Brad (109128).  I just attached the Victoria Crochet Trim (118481) from the backside.  Easy!   Now back to the drawing board...I have TWO shower cards to make, one wedding and one baby.  UGH.... the pressure!  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!

Greeting Card Kids Halloween Card

Autumn is definitely in the air here in Minnesota!  At 65-70 degrees, I love this weather :)  With the feeling of autumn in the air, comes the feeling of Halloween!  I fell in love with this image from the stamp set Greeting Card Kids (w-119887 c-120633).  How cute is she?!?

Using my Blender Pen (102845) for the main image, I simply picked up some ink from the lid of my Classic Ink Pads and colored the image which was stamped on Shimmery White Paper (101910).  For the sentiment, I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the stamp before stamping the image.  The main card is Elegant Eggplant and the orange layer is Tangerine Tango.  For the card stock "ribbon" I used Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (119275).One of my favorite new punches this year.

For the ruffled ribbon behind the image, I used Basic Black 5/8" Stain Ribbon (117285).  Simply apply Sticky Strip on the backside of the image and ruffle the ribbon!

Beautiful Butterflies Anniversary Card

Guess what I finally got?  Yep! The Stampin Up Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die (114507).  I honestly don't know what took me so long to order it, it is so fun!  There are four sizes of butterflies on one die, what a deal :)

The Stampin Up colors in this card are Early Espresso and Daffodil Delight.  Using the stamp set Flower Fancy (111578), I stamped flowers on the large butterfly and added Dazzling Diamonds (102023) to the center of the flowers. The sentiment is from the set A Word For You (C-120528).  Isn't that font cute?

I ran the smaller butterflies through my Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335) and tied the large butterfly with Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119959).  Oh, and the punched embellishment is made using the Dotted Ribbon Scallop Border (119275).

Some of you have asked how Lady is doing, and she's great, thanks!  For being an old girl she's doing pretty dang good.  She loves hanging out in my office with me while I'm workin' away.  Lady is very good company, never complains or demands much...lol. Gotta love her!

Halloween Treat Holder

Hello Stampers!  Isn't this cute?  I got the pattern for this treat holder from the Stampin Up Demonstrator website.  Another one of the perks of being a demonstrator!  There are several templates at your finger tips, along with sketches, etc. In addition to that, we also have access to Stampin Connection, an endless supply of creative ideas shared by other demonstrators. (and there are some very creative ladies out there!)

For this project I used Tangerine Tango card stock (111349)...it is SUCH a pretty orange,  love it!  Perfect for Halloween.  The word stamp is from the set, All Holidays (114916).  And the ribbon is simply a piece of 5/8" Black Satin Ribbon (117285) tied in a knot and attached to the treat box.  I just tied 1/4" black grosgrain ribbon (109027) on the ends of the treat bag.

The pumpkins are made using the medium oval punch (120908), with sponged the edges for a little extra "pop!".  Easy Peasy!

If you want to take advantage of the resources Stampin Up has to offer, such as finding patterns like the Halloween Treat Holder on the Demonstrator Website...just let me know :)  I would love to have you join me and Stampin' Up! by becoming a Demonstrator!  Time is running out to take advantage of the  FREE Tote Promotion, which ends OCTOBER 18th, so HURRY!  I actually bought this tote at Convention this year, and I LOVE it....believe me, you will not be disappointed! So, how do you sign up?  It's easy!  Email me today, I would love to have you join me and Stampin' Up!

Northern Hearts Hostess Set

Hi Stampers!  It's Thursday, so that means another post for our demonstrators Blog Challenge!  Woo hoo!

The stamps sets I used are also out of the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I used the Level One Hostess Set, Northern Hearts (W-120833 C-121145), and for the greeting I used the set, Bright Christmas (W-121678 C-121318).

For this week's Blog Challenge, Dawn wanted us to use an accessory from the Holiday Mini.  I chose the Silver Glass Glitter (120995).  I just added Sticky Strip to my card and put the glitter on top of it, that's it!  I also stamped and popped up a snowflake in the center of the wreath for some added interest :)   The colors in this card are Marina Mist and Real Red.

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!

So Many Thanks

Did you know Stampin' Up sells individual or single stamps?  Well, they do!  Check them out on page 18 of the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog.  This card was made using the individual stamp, So Many Thanks (#120173).  What a perfect stamp to have on hand for a quick thank you!

I wanted the word THANKS to stand out, so I colored the stamp with 2 different colors.  It was SO easy!  All I did was stamp the entire stamp in Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink.  Then using my Blender Pen (#102845), I removed the Pumpkin Pie ink only from the word THANKS and then colored it with my Old Olive Marker.

The hearts were made using the Heart to Heart Punch, and the border trim below I simply punched out the Dotted Scallop Ribbon, cut it in half and mounted it on my card.  The grosgrain ribbon is Early Espresso (119955), love that!  Oh, and I used Pumpkin Pie Textured card stock from the Brights Assortment Pack (121077).

For the inside of the card, I popped up a punched heart with a dimensional for a little extra somethin' :)

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!

6" x 6" Scrapbook Pages for Scrap Camp

Hello!  Last Thursday I held a Scrap Camp for a friend's dog therapy class.  At dog therapy training, people train their dogs to be therapy dogs in nursing homes, etc, and in addition the dogs learn the R.E.A.D. Program

"A UC Davis study has shown that children who read to dogs for 10 weeks will improve reading skills by 12%, while children who didn't read to dogs showed no improvement."

Although I am not familiar with their training, I am familiar with paper crafting!  So my friend Jodi who is the instructor of this class, asked me to offer a class to her clients so they could assemble a scrapbook focusing on their therapy and R.E.A.D program.  Of course I will, sounds like fun!

For this class I provided everyone with a 6"x6" Red Linen album from Stampin' Up and materials to make 8 scrap book pages for their album.  I ended up selling my sample album at the event, so I don't have a photo of that to share with you, but I do have pictures of the pages we made.

I used the designer paper, Celebrations (117164) and the coordinating Quick Accents (118708) die cuts.  The stamp sets used were D is for Dog (115784)and Word Play (C-120308 W-120651).

Here are the 8 - 6"x6" pages everyone made.  Enjoy!

Artistic Etchings Sketch

Woo Hoo! I  finally got my new camera so I can post again :)  Today's post is a card I made for a sketch challenge with our demonstrator group. This sketch card was actually "due" last Thursday, but I got an "excused pass" from Dawn because my "equipment" was down...lol.  Thanks Dawn!

DOS003

Here is the sketch, I just tilted it on it's side.  Jan is another demonstrator from our group who came up with this sketch, thanks Jan!  What a fun sketch :)

The stamp set is Artistic Etchings (W-118517 C-120573), and the colors are Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  I {heart} Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.  I find myself reaching for Early Espresso now more than Chocolate Chip, hard to believe!  Before Stampin Up's color renovation, I used Chocolate Chip all the time.  I really do love the new colors, Stampin Up did a great job with the renovation, don't you think?  Thank you Stampin' Up!

My love of punches, ahhhhhh yes.  This card is filled with them!  After I punched out the medallion I cut out that awesome crown and popped it up with a dimensional...love this set!

For the greeting, I used the Large Oval Punch (119855), and the Scallop Edge Border Punch (119882) for some added detail.  The ribbon is 1/8" Early Espresso Taffeta (119959).

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!

Clear Mount Rubber Stamps

Happy Friday Stampers!  Well, the bad news is my new camera has not arrived yet, but the GOOD NEWS is that according to Fed Ex, it will arrive today!  What time?  Who knows...so in the meantime I thought I would share this with you :)

Have you tried Stampin' Up's Clear Mount Stamps yet? OMGosh, I love them!  At first I was skeptical, after all I loved Stampin Up's wood mount stamps and was not "that" familiar with clear mount.  I had used clear mount a few times in other brands, but wasn't really educated on them.  Well, I am a changed woman!  All I order now is clear mount, they are awesome.

Here are a few advantages of Clear Mount off the top of my head....
  • You can SEE where the rubber is gonna hit the paper....no more guess-work!
  • No more ink-stained wood blocks, that's nice!
  • You can customize your stamped image by attaching more than one stamp to your clear block. For instance, you can add a sentiment and an image to the same block and stamp away!
  • Storage, oh my gosh....what a difference.  The clear mounts come in a DVD size case, that includes the images on the bind so you can see what you have at a glance, love that!
  • The cost?  They are cheaper than the wood mount.
  • The acrylic blocks are grooved on all 4 sides so you can get a nice "grip" on any side of your block.
Convinced yet?  If you have any questions on our stamps or anything else, please feel free to contact me.  I would love to help you out :)

Big Shot Flower Folds Card

Hi Stampers!  Yesterday was "one of those days".....you know the ones.  It started off with me dropping my camera when I was taking photos to post on my blog.  Ugh!  The lens was open and when it dropped the lens bent, so now it won't close or take a picture. I ordered another camera online, and it should be here this week.  In the meantime, I was happy I had a couple of saved projects on my computer to share with you until the new camera arrives :)

I saw this card online and I am SO sad because I didn't take note of who I CASE'd it from :(  Please, if it was you let me know so I can give you proper credit, okay?  I fell in love with the simplicity of this card, and the WOW factor of the darling flower.  I used the stamp set With All My Heart.  The colors are Early Espresso, Certainly Celery, Pear Pizzaz and Daffodil Delight.

For the center of the flower, I simply layered some punched circles and added a Build A Brad (#109128).  The flower die is called Flower Folds (#115970) and is the same die I used for this project. I also ran the flowers through my Big Shot (#113439) using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (#117335).  For the ribbon, I simply tied a knot using Certainly Celery 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (#109050), and attached with a Glue Dot.

Silhouette Sentiments Thinking of You

Hello!  Today's post is a card I made using colors suggested by the Color Coach (120148).  For those who don't know, the Color Coach is a swatch book of all the Stampin Up colors, giving you suggested color combinations.  It's a great tool to have on hand, I love it!

Stampin' Up! Color Coach Combination

The suggested colors by Stampin' Up were Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Basic Gray.  I also added Basic Black.  For the stamped flowers on the panels, I simply stamped the matching ink color on the card stock, it is a little bolder-look than using Versamark. I used the stamp set Silhouette Sentiments, which is a Level One Hostess Set, and used the NEW 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and Old Olive Ribbon.

I colored the bird and the branch with Melon Mambo and Old Olive Stampin Write Markers. Then, using the 2 Way Glue Pen I put glue on the bird and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds for some pizzaz :)

In Colors Punch Potpourri

Hello there!  Today's card was CASED from Stampin' Up's  Idea Book and Catalog (pg 10), isn't it cute?  I love getting inspired by the catalog, it forces me out of my comfort-zone to make something I otherwise probably would have never thought to  put together.  I made this card for our demonstrator challenge, the challenge was to use In-Colors.

The stamp set is a Level One Hostess set called Punch Potpourri.  As soon as I saw this set, I knew I had to have it given my addiction to Stampin' Up punches :)  I also used the set, Great Friend for the sentiment. (love that one too...big surprise, ha ha!)

Here's a close up so you can see the details...I think I am also addicted to the NEW Basic Pearls.  They are a GREAT deal at only $4.95 for 150 pieces.  FYI - the Rhinestones are equally addicting at the same low price.
