More Convention Fun!

Here's my upline Dawn Olchefske at the Over the Top Event we attended, how cute is this? (and the prize is cute too!) Dawn won this fabulous door prize, I am "green with envy"...LOL! I believe that this adorable purse is made out of the new In Color, Pear Pizzaz. Way to go Dawn! By the way, Dawn made Founders Circle! She totally deserves it, love ya Dawn!

Here's Jan and I goofing around at the Convention Center. Stampin Up decorates the Convention Center with flags, signs, etc...it is really cute!

We hung out a lot with Kelly Acheson's group, heeeyyyyyy girls! Here we are at one of the many meals we shared with them. They are a fun group from Wisconsin. We all hit it off and decided to form our own little swap group as a way of keeping in touch, LOVE THAT!
Here we are again, this was taken on awards night. Dawn was Demonstrator #61 and Kelly was #16...WOO HOO....you guys rock!
Pictured from left to right, Cathy, Nikki, Jan, Kelly, Dawn, me and Linda.

Some of you have asked how Lady is doing, thank you! I am happy to report she is doing very well. Her coordination isn't 100%, but she is doing much better than we expected. This photo was taken last summer when she spotted a chipmunk in the tree...LOL! She is over 15 years old now and we really treasure each day with her :) When she was in ICU last month, the tech's told me she was their "favorite" patient...wonder if they tell all the doggies that?!? Nawwwww...lol.

My Swaps for Convention

Hello Friday!!! Today's post is a couple different cards I made to swap at Convention. I had several different designs to swap, as I could only make 35-50 of one design and then I got bored with it and had to go on to something else, LOL!

It's hard to tell from this photo, but this card is made with Blushing Bride and Soft Suede card stock. The butterfly stamp is from Punch Potpourri and punched out with the Butterfly Punch. I used crochet thread to wrap the 3 layers of card stock on the butterflies and to make the antennas. The embossing folder is called Elegant Lines. Oh, and the stamp set for the sentiment is called A Word For You.

This swap was made using the stamp set, Elements of Style. I used good 'ole Chocolate Chip and Old Olive for this one :) The embossing folder is called Vintage Wallpaper, isn't it pretty? And so versatile!

To add some "bling" I used my 2 Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds to accent parts of the flower. That's it!

Stay tuned, I will be posting more swaps in the next few days.

Over the Top Swap - Pop-Up Card

Happy Thursday! The first night of Convention our group attended an Over the Top Event, it was very nice! We were all to make a swap that was over the top, and this was my swap using the stamp set Tote-ally Tess. I have heard them called Pop-Up Cards or a Garage Door Fold. I had to make 51 cards and I think the most time consuming part was cutting out Tess' shirts, pants and the totes (or at least it seemed like it..lol).

The top layer of the card is Melon Mambo and I attached punched circles for a faux embossing look. The bottom layer of the card is Pink Pirouette. And, Tess' pants are Certainly Celery.

Even though these were very time consuming to make, I did have fun making them. Tote-ally Tess always puts a smile on my face :) Plus, I {heart} Melon Mambo.

Ahhhhh....Momento Mall :)

For those who have been fortunate enough to attend Convention, you understand the excitement of Momento Mall. For those who don't know, Momento Mall is a room full of cute Stampin' Up Merchandise. Notice the computer bag that everything is piled on? Isn't that adorable?

I was also able to pick up some business tools, a ribbon sampler, designer paper sampler and a punch template/sampler.

And, the Craft Tote....how awesome is this? The thing I LOVE about this tote is the fact it is "long" enough to fit my Fiskars Cutter in or a 12x12 Craft Keeper. I didn't think of how big it was until I had to pack it..LOL! But, I managed to get it home safe and sound :)

And, check out the adorable print inside and out. It is from the Greenhouse Gala Designer Paper. Oh, and the flower was the bag tag I made.

Stay tuned for more Convention photos this week!

Stampin Up Convention 2010

Hi Stampers! I thought I would share some photos from Convention! Here's my Convention Buddies Jan Carlson and Dawn Olchefske upon arrival at the Salt Lake City Airport. Can you tell how happy we were to be there?

Here is Jan receiving her First Convention Pin and her tote (love her smile :)). I was so excited for her, there's nothing like your first convention!

Here's me receiving my tote....aren't they cute?!? Good thing they are durable too...we were lugging around LOTS of stuff! LOL!

And heeeeeeeere's Dawn!!! She made Founders Circle for the 3rd year in a row! You ROCK Dawn!!!

The first night attended a dinner put on by Ronda Wade, isn't she cute? Such a nice lady! The dinner was fabulous and so was the SWAPPING!

After the Stampin' Up Party, we attended an Over the Top Event with Kelly Acheson's group. Pictured (starting center front going clockwise) Kelly Acheson, Dawn Olchefske, Jan Carlson, me, Nikki Rueth, Cathy Miller and Linda Wiese. (sorry, didn't know the next 2 ladies)

Here is one of the make and take projects we did at the event. Those owls are the cutest ever! I will continue to share more photos from Convention through out the week.

Maculine Birthday Card

Happy Saturday!!! At my Stamp A Stack class last week I wanted to offer a masculine card, as most people struggle with masculine cards. The stamp sets I used were Circle Circus (115778) and Perfect Punches (W117022 C 120516). The base of the card is Basic Gray and the inks I used for the main image are Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and Basic Gray. I "stamped off" the Basic Gray ink to give it a lighter shade, otherwise it seemed too dark next to the black images. The black ribbon behind the main image was just attached by running my snail adhesive on the back of the ribbon and attaching to the main card. Isn't this a great color combination?!?

After stamping, we ran it through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder (#119976). I stamped the happy birthday image in Cherry Cobbler ink and punched it out using my Wide Oval Punch (119859) Popped it up with a few Dimensionals, and that's it!

Another Friends Never Fade Card

Hi there! While I am at Convention, please enjoy some posts I scheduled for you! I wanted to share with you another card made from the set, Friends Never Fade (W 118750 - C 120618). Isn't this flower pretty?!? The designer paper is from Greenhouse Gala (#117167) and is a real winner! The colors Stampin' Up used in this paper are just fabulous, don't you agree? I also used the new 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Daffodil Delight (#119254).

The embossing folder is called Square Lattice (#119976) and is very popular right now. For the flowers, I stamped them on white card stock with Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip ink. After cutting them out, I popped the left flower and the centers up with Dimensionals.

Friends Never Fade

Hey Stampers and Happy Tuesday! I am leaving in the morning for the Stampin' Up! Convention....Utah, here we come! I am going with my upline, Dawn Olchefske and another downline of Dawns (and friend) Jan Carlson (Hi Gals!) I am going to schedule some posts for you while I am gone. I won't have a computer with me in Utah, and even if I did there probably wouldn't be much time to blog. So enjoy the posts and if you have any questions just email me or leave a comment and I will answer when I get back on Sunday. Now, on to today's card.......

Again, not the best photos so I'm not sure if you can see the Dazzling Diamonds on the stamped flower, but it is there and so pretty! I inked up the flower with Melon Mambo and Old Olive markers, and the stamp set is called Friends Never Fade (also a new set). I gotta say I love Melon Mambo, and so happy Stampin' Up decided to keep it as one of their core colors. I embossed the Melon Mambo card stock (#115320) with the NEW and beautiful Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (#120175). This was another card the gals made at my Stamp A Stack last weekend.

The fold is called a Z-Fold and SO simple. All you do is fold your card stock as you would for a regular 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card. Then fold the front flap back in half. I finished off the inside of the card with a stamped image.

NEW Owl Punch!!!

Well, Stampin' Up! has done it again! The new catalog is AWESOME! Have you seen the NEW 2 Step Owl Punch (#118074) yet? I knew the minute I saw it I *had* to have it. After all, "woot" could resist? (sorry, I couldn't help myself with the pun). The sentiment is from the NEW stamp set, A Word for You. I love how they incorporated the 2 different fonts in this word set, cute!

There is another new punch in this photo, the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch (#118874). Love it!!! And, the "tree branches" are from the 2 Step Bird Punch. I love how everything works together, don't you?

BTW, sorry about the bad lighting on the photos...it is really cloudy today in Minnesota :(

On a more personal note, Lady is improving every day! I had a Stamp A Stack here at my house last Saturday, and she loved that! Oh, by the way...this was actually one of the cards we made at the Stamp A Stack :)

Card stock: Marina Mist, Choc Chip, Pear Pizzaz, Pumpkin Pie and Greenhouse Gala DP

Black and White Artistic Etchings

Here is another NEW stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Artistic Etchings. I like this set because the image looks so realistic, love that! There is something so clean and simple about black and white, don't you think? Sometimes I get all wrapped up in the "color thing", if I just go back to "simple" it works! I popped up the circle image and the tower with dimensionals. This ribbon is new too, isn't it pretty with the white border on the edges? It is 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and available in 13 colors in the NEW Catalog! Check out the new catalog on the left side of my blog, it's amazing!!!

I have to apologize for not posting more this week. I have been busy working on swaps for convention (in my *spare* time...LOL), plus working and taking care of Lady. She is improving everyday and I want to thank everyone again for their concern. I had to crack-up today....check out this photo of her. Do you think I should get her a pair of doggy sunglasses? LOL! Gotta love her :)

Sesame Street Punch Art

Inspired by "yapha" on Stampin Addicts

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Thank you again everyone for your well-wishes for Lady. She is slowly but surely recovering at home. She still can't walk across the room and is wobbly on her feet, but we are working with her and hope that over the next 2 weeks she will continue to improve.

Now, on to today's card! Isn't it adorable???? I don't have children, so seldom need a "kid" card...but I couldn't resist making this one :) I love the bright colors and the fact it is made using punches, as you know I am a sucker for a punch art card. Plus, doesn't it just make you smile?!?

The colors are: Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink and Soft Suede. I had to use the slot punch (which is retired) for Oscar the Grouch's eye brows, it was the only punch that would work. The Happy Birthday Stamp is from All Holidays.
