How can you resist?!?

How can you "resist" Wax Paper Resist? I LOVE this technique ;) This technique seemed to go so well with the Wild About You stamp set. This was the 3rd project my Club Members made at our workshop last week.

Materials used for this card:
Stamp Set: Wild About You
Cardstock: Glossy White, Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Black Stazon
Accessories: Brayer, Ribbon, Flower Fusion (felt flower), brad, wax paper and an iron

Instructions on Wax Paper Resist:
  • Take a piece of Wax Paper slightly larger than your glossy cardstock. Crinkle it up and then smooth it back out.
  • Sandwich your wax paper between two pieces of Glossy Cardstock, with the glossy sides facing the wax paper, both top and bottom.*Hint: using two pieces of cardstock yields two backgrounds in *one step. For a single background, use a piece of plain paper in *place of the second glossy one.
  • Iron over your paper "sandwich" without steam.
  • Take pieces apart and throw wax paper away.
  • Brayer over your glossy cardstock with Dye Ink. Cover the entire piece of cardstock.
  • Wipe over your cardstock with a paper towel. The ink will resist where the wax from the wax paper stuck to the glossy cardstock.

Stair Step Fold for Easter

Here's one of the techniques (or folds) we learned at my workshop last week, the Stair Step Fold. It is super easy to create and you can embellish with anything you want. I did post a Stair Step card last year you can view it here. Today's card was made using the Designer Paper that is available in the Sale A Bration catalog. (ends March 31st). Isn't it pretty? I will be sad to see it go :(

Instructions on to make a Stair Step Card:
  • Cut your cardstock to the size of 10.5 X 5.0 - if you want to stamp on this, now would be the time to do it.
  • Score your cardstock at 1.25" - 2.5" - 4.25", 6" and at 8.25" Now fold with hills and valleys (accordion style) making sure that the smallest (1.25" fold) is folded down, as this will be the front of your card.
  • Now here's the fun part...decorate with ANYTHING...punches, cut-outs, stickers...whatever your theme is, run with it.
Hope you try it sometime, they are SUPER easy and you can get very creative! Thanks for looking.

Get Whale Soon

Today's post is a card I made for our friend Lori, who just had surgery. Hopefully this card will put a smile on her face :) The Designer Paper is from Holiday Treasure. I have been wanting to use the chocolate chip paper with polka dots and thought, why not! So this is what I came up with. I paper pieced the whale by stamping it a 2nd time on Bashful Blue card stock and cutting it out. For some detail I added a few brads and some ribbon...oh, and some dimensionals of course! The inside of the card is decorated with a strip of the Designer Paper at the bottom, just to finish it off. Thanks for looking!

Materials for this card:
Stamp Set: Pun Fun
Papers: Bashful Blue, Rose Red, Holiday Treasure
Accessories: Bashful Blue Ribbon, Earth Element Brads, Dimensionals
