Punch Art Swap

Happy Friday! Last night I attended a monthly demonstrator meeting hosted by my upline, Dawn Olchefske - Hi Dawn! Each month Dawn organizes a swap for the demonstrators in her group. This month's "theme" was punch art. Woo hoo! This was right up my alley, I love punch art! I must say, I got some AWESOME swaps from the gals last night, thanks ladies! We could sign up for certain "holidays" and by the time I signed up Christmas was full, so I did Easter! I made a Stair Step card which added some dimension and interest to the card. I love the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper, it's so cheerful ;)

Here's how you can make on for yourself!

Stair Step Dimensions:
  1. Melon Mambo Cardstock cut at 10.5" x 4 1/4".
  2. Score in landscape position at 1 1/4" - 2 1/2" - 4 1/4" -6" - 8 1/4"
  3. Decorate as desired!
For my card I used the following:

Punches: Wide oval, large oval, small oval, 1 1/4" Circle, 3/4" circle
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pretty in Pink, Razzleberry Lemonade
Accessories: Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon, Crop-a-Dile (lg punch for eyes)

Note: I also sponged his cheeks with Pretty in Pink ink.

Thanks for looking!

Turkey Nugget (Hershey, that is!)

Hi Stampers! Today's post is a 3D candy project (gotta love that!) I made several of these for Thanksgiving and they are SO easy to make. All I did was wrap a Hershey Nugget with a strip of 1" x 3.5" cardstock. (Note: It is a good idea to use glue dots to secure cardstock to Hershey Nugget to hold it secure. I use snail adhesive when wrapping with Designer Paper because it is a lighter weight paper). I made the "feathers" using Stampin Up's Scallop Circle Punch, and the turkey's head using the 1" Circle Punch. Email me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Autumn Thank you Card

Happy Saturday! Today's post is a simple thank you I made for my customers who ordered from me this month. Place an order with me to receive a FREE card for yourself. Simply click "SHOP NOW" in the upper right hand corner of my website.

This is a similar color combo from the Color Challenge a few posts back. To make the large oval layer behind the sentiment, I simply adhered to a scrap of Rich Razzleberry card stock and cut free hand (I know...scary!). The sentiment was punched out using Stampin Up's Wide Oval Punch. Don't you love the In Color Ribbon? The polka dots give this simple card a little "pop". I used the In Color Markers to color the sentiment..love it! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!
Happy Stamping!

Medallion Swap

Hello! I recently participated in a swap, and we were to use the Medallion stamp from Stampin Up. I love this stamp, so I was excited to play! All I did was ink up the entire stamp in Crushed Curry. Then I took the Dusty Durango ink pad and randomly made swipe marks on the stamp. I stamped it twice and punched out the center and popped it up with dimensionals. This color combo reminds me of autumn :) Thanks for stopping by today!

Circle Circus Christmas Tree

Inspiration for the tree came from Donna Moore
Hi Stampers! Here is the card I made for DOstampers Sketch Challenge. This is a challenge my upline, Dawn is putting together for her downline of demonstrators. You can see the color challenge idea I came up with on my previous post. But today's challenge is a Sketch Challenge that Jan came up with. I love this layout! Thanks Jan!

Halloween Gable Box

This is another project we made at the Halloween Stamp Camp. The bag of candy goes inside the box and this is just a sample. The "real thing" was full of candy pumpkins ;) The image reads "It's Halloween, enjoy every bite" I thought it would be fun to incorporate a "doggie stamp" from the set "D is for Dog", so I added the paw print to the handle. This was a simple project and the Gable Box can be used anytime you need a little gift box/bag.

For a tutorial on how to make your own Gable Box click here

Give Thanks Nugget Box

How fun is the matchbox die from Stampin Up? Love, love, love it for making Nugget Boxes. No need to measure, cut or score...the die does all the work for you. Plus, you don't need adhesive to put the bottom of the box together, it all folds into place. The cover of the box is also made with the die and makes the score lines for you. Pretty sweet, huh? For the wrapping of the nuggets, all I did was cut 1"x 3 1/2" strip pf designer paper and attached them to the nugget wrapper with adhesive. This cute stamp is part of the stamp set Holiday Best, and I used my In Color Markers to color the stamp. This is one of the projects we made at my Halloween Stamp Camp last week, as well as the Halloween card I posted on the last post. I know this particular stamp is more "thanksgiving" than halloween, but I gave my stampers a choice, either this or a halloween stamp for this project. I will share more of the projects we made at the Stamp Camp throughout the week. Thanks for stopping by!

Eek! You're Sweet!

Hey Stampers! When I first saw this great idea for the Sweet Treat Cups, I knew I had to try it. A tab used to easily get the candy out without destroying the cup. I got the idea from Mike's blog, Stampin' Style. What a genius! Thanks Mike! You can see from the photo of the open card where the candy comes out. Pretty cool, huh?

To make your own, after you stamp the main image and cut it out, just put a glue dot in each corner and attach to orange cardstock layer. Your tab is going to slide in between your stamped image and the orange cardstock. Easy peasy!

Note: You can click on the photo to get a closer look ;)

Stamp Sets: Sweet Centers, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Polka Dot (background stamp-dormant list)
Cardstock: Lavendar Lace, Only Orange, Basic Black, Whisper White
Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Lavendar Lace

Faux Flocking Tutorial & Halloween Stamp Camp

Inspiration for this technique from Andrea Walford
Hi Stampers! Today's card features the technique, Faux Flocking. Isn't this little bird the cutest? He is part of the stamp set, Twick or Tweet found in the NEW Holiday Mini Catalog.

I am having a Halloween Stamp Camp at my house on Wednesday, September 23rd. This Stamp Camp is "Open House" style and stampers are welcome to come anytime from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. This card will be one of the projects we will be making. The other projects will be candy-related (woohoo!), you won't want to miss this one! Everyone attending will make 4 Make and Take projects for only $10.00.

Deadline to Register is Sunday, September 20th. Space is limited, so Register early!

How to Register:

Email me at imastampingnut@aol.com

  1. In the subject area of your email write: Halloween Stamp Camp
  2. Let me know your name and how many will be attending
  3. Approximate time you plan on arriving
  4. I will verify your Registration by responding to your email with directions to my house.
This class is appropriate for stampers of all levels, including beginners. Prepayment is not necessary and you can pay for the class upon arrival. Hope to see you there!

Faux Flocking Tutorial:

Over a Powder Pal tray, take your paper snips scissors and run the blade along the edge of the Yoyo Yellow cardstock as you would if you were trying to distress the edge. As you are doing this, you'll notice small fine cardstock “dust” falling into your Powder Pal tray. These are your Faux Flocking pieces. Use your finger to push them into a pile.

Color image with a Stampin Write Marker to match flocking. Apply a small amount of Crystal Effects, in a thin even layer, over the area where you want to add the flock. Turn that over and press it into your pile of “faux flocking” so that it sticks to the Crystal Effects. Pat down gently so that it sticks well.

To order this set for yourself shop online and have it delivered right to your door! Simply click "SHOP NOW" in the upper right hand corner of my website.

The card stock used is Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Real Red. I love combining the new In Colors with existing Stampin Up colors. I used my paper piercer to make a "trail" behind the doggie ;)

Very Thankful

Hi Stampers! Sorry I haven't been posting lately, but I just got back in town. We have been traveling a lot this summer, which is fine with me...lol. But, I am excited to get back to my stamping room and make some fun cards to share with you!

Today's card is a quick thank you I made with the stamp set, Very Thankful. It's hard to tell from the photo, but I used the Texturz Plate on my Big Shot to create the embossed polka dots for the background. (click on the photo for a close up view) I stamped the image twice, once in Black and once in Bermuda Bay. The Bermuda Bay circles were punched out with a small circle punch and popped up on the card using Dimensionals. I added 2 gold brads to add more interest.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Thanks So Much...

I love the simplicity of this card...and what made it simple? Stampin Up of course! Stampin Up takes the guess-work out of creating any project, simple or complex. This card is made using the new Designer Paper, Tall Tales. I simply punched four So Saffron squares using the large square punch, and four more out of the Designer Paper using the smaller square punch. I used the new 1 3/8" Circle Punch for the greeting, added some chocolate chip ribbon and woola! This card measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square.

Upsy Daisy Glitter!

This is a card I made for my Grandma's upcoming birthday...she is going to be 93 ;) I really wanted to use Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red for this card, plus I am trying to use up some of my retired supplies. So, this is what I came up with! I don't think I will ever get tired of Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red, they are great colors. I ran the layered piece of Pink Pirouette through my Big Shot and used the small polka dot texture plate. To add the glitter to the flowers, I simply used my 2 Way Glue Pen to add some glue and added Dazzling Diamonds. (you can click on the photo to see a close up of the glitter). I used my Horizontal Slot Punch to make the slit for the ribbon and that's it! Easy Peasy! Upsy Daisy is one of my favorite sets, I should play with it more often. The greeting is from the retired set, Warmest Regards. Thanks for looking!

This next card was made by my hubby, Dan. In the years I have been stamping, this is the 2nd card he has made. I thought he did pretty good, don't you? Again, great color combo! LOL!

I'm baaaack!

Hi Stampers! I just got back from a much needed vacation...ahhhh. Our family (12 of us total) celebrated my parents 50th Anniversary on a Hawaiian Cruise ;) What a way to celebrate, huh? I am still trying to adjust from the red-eye flight home, the 5 hour time change and being gone for 10 days, but hope to be posting later in the week. Until I can get some stamping done, I thought I would leave you with some photos from our trip.

Here's my hubby, Dan hitting the surf at Waikiki Beach only 1/2 into our trip. He loves the ocean!
My parents take time for a quick photo while we are out shopping in Oahu.

Dan and me at a Luau in Maui. The food and entertainment were great!

This is our niece Ashlee, her fiance Neal and me taking a break from the beach for a cold drink and some lunch. What a fun day!

Stained Glass Technique

I love this stamp set, Friends 24-7. I was wanting to try this new technique (at least it was new to me) called Stained Glass. All I did was stamp the bird on Vellum cardstock in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and embossed w/ clear embossing powder. Then I turned it over and colored in the image with markers (on the wrong side). How easy is that? Try something new, you'll be glad you did!

Stamp Set: Friends 24-7
Cardstock: White Confetti, Brocade Blue, Vellum
Inks: Chocolate Chip Craft and Chocolate Chip Classic, Stampin Up Markers
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Silver Brads

Watercolor Rose

Good Morning Stampers! This is the 3rd and final project from my May Stamp Club Workshop. The technique is called Watercolor Splash. All you need for this technique is some embossing supplies and some reinkers and you are set! Give it a try and you will be amazed!

Watercolor Splash Technique:
Using Shimmery White Paper - stamp a lined image with Versamark Ink or White Craft Ink. Then heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.

Spray the image with water, allowing the water to "pool" in the spaces between the embossed lines. Then use an Aqua Painter (or watercolor brush) to pick up ink (from ink refills) and touch the Aqua Painter to the water pools. Watch the ink spread.

Tips:
Start with the lightest color. Use 2-3 colors
Use Aqua Painter (or watercolor brush) to "pull" excess ink and water off and blend colors.

Materials used for this card:
Stamp Set: Fifth Ave Floral
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Bella Rose DP, Shimmery White
Inks: White Craft Ink (or Versamark), Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red Reinkers
Accessories: Big Shot Top Note Die, 5 Petal Flower Punch, White Embossing Powder, Aqua Painter or Watercolor Brush, Dimensionals

This was the bonus project made at my May Stamp Club...isn't it cute? I am addicted to making these dress cards now, I think because they are so simple to make and so darn cute! If you have the Big Shot and a Circle Scallop Die, you are in business.

Here's how you can make your own:
  • For your template, make a Scallop Circle using heavy cardstock or cardboard.
  • Draw the shape you want for your dress, and cut out.
  • For your actual dress, make a Scallop Circle using DP.
  • Lay the template over the DP and draw the shape on the "wrong side".
  • Cut out and ta da!
  • Embellish as desired.
Materials used for this card:
Stamp Set: Absolutely Fabulous
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze (textured), Urban Garden DP, Whisper White
Ink: Baja Breeze
Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Circle Die, Eyelet Border Punch, Gray Taffeta Ribbon, Baja Breeze Button, Rhinestone Brad, Dimensionals

Note: The Rhinestone Brad fits perfectly through the button holes ;)

Simple Thank You

This is a quick card I made using the stamp, Flowers in Silhouette. This stamp is only $7.95 and can be found on page 208 of the Stampin Up catalog. On the front of the card I simply "stamped off" the ink to create different shades of the flower. Then I embossed the saying on the tag in white and ta-da! A simple Thank you card ;) Even if you have a busy lifestyle, try to take time to do the things you enjoy (like stamping). Quick and easy cards are fun to make and don't take a lot of time to create. Just for added interest, I stamped the image on the inside too...easy peasy! Thanks for looking and don't forget to stamp something today!

Stamp Set (s): Flowers in Silhouette, Matchbox Messages
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Whisper White
Inks: Pacific Point, White Craft (or Versamark will do)
Accessories: PP Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches

Fifth Avenue Thank you

This is a thank you card I made for my parents...don't you love this color combo? To make the blue center of the flower, I simply stamped the image on Baja Breeze cardstock and used my small circle punch to punch out the center. I popped up both flowers with Dimensionals, and used the Horizontal Slot Punch to create a slot to slip my chocolate ribbon through.

Thanks for looking and Happy Stamping!

Inks: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Lg and Small Oval Punches, Scallop Oval Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, 3/4" circle Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Chocolate Chip Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

Calista's Birthday Card

This is a card I made for our niece Calista's 5th birthday. I rarely reach for the bold brights and should do it more often. I love bold brights! I usually only use current Stampin Up products because I am a demonstrator. But when making cards for family or friends, I sometimes reach for an old retired favorite. The Happy Birthday stamp on the front is actually from the set, So Many Scallops which was a Sale A Bration set last year. Can't seem to part with that one...lol. For some reason I am on a window-card kick lately, and thought this worked out good with the balloons. Speaking of balloons, I stamped the balloons on paper and cut them out (paper piecing).

Stamp Sets: Crazy for Cupcakes (balloons), So Many Scallops (retired)
Cardstock and Inks: Only Orange, Real Red, Green Galore
Accessories: Real Red Ribbon, 1 3/4" Circle Punch (for window), Dimensionals

Here is a photo of Calista from last summer. She was showing me her "cheers"...LOL.

Inspired Rock Star

Hi! The color inspiration for this card came from a make and take we did at a demo meeting I was at last week. Don't you love it? I learned last week that our nephew got accepted to take a course this summer at McAllister College and he is only 12 years old! (where did those brains come from? LOL!) He is going to take a course in chemistry. Of course, we are so proud of him so I thought I'd make him a card to show him so! The inside of the card is stamped with "Good For You!" He is such a great kid ;) (we don't have our own kids so we can brag about our nephews and neices..lol).

I embossed the star using Real Red and the green stars in the background are made using Kiwi Kiss Textured cardstock. I popped up the red star with dimensionals.

Thanks for looking!

Stamp Sets: A Little Somethin', Really Retro
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Kiwi Kiss (textrured)
Inks: Real Red, Versamark (for embossing)
Accessories: Black Ribbon, Lg and Small Oval Punches, Lg and Small Star Punches, Dimensionals

Embossed Butterflies

(I was hurried when I took this photo, and it came out rather dark...sorry!)
Hi Stampers! I made 19 of this card for a swap I was in with my upline's team. I used the "trick" again that I learned at Regionals, embossing with Classic Ink. Just ink up your stamp in Versamark, then ink with Classic Ink. Stamp your image and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder. I love this technique! I popped up the butterflies with dimensionals (of course), and paper pierced along the bottom of the card near the sentiment.

Stamp Set: Great Friend
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Cameo Coral, Whisper White
Inks: Versamark, Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, Paper Snips (to cut out all those butterflies, lol)

Thanks for looking and don't forget to stamp something today ;)

Faux Quilting

At my Stamp Club Workshops I like to squeeze in a bonus project, usually using the Big Shot. Since 2 of my Club Members are into quilting, I thought this was perfect! All you do is punch out Designer Paper squares using the 1 1/4" Square Punch, adhere to a piece of white cardstock and run through the Big Shot using the Top Note Die. Then for the finishing touch, we add "stitches" using a marker to mimic a hand stitch. It's hard to tell from the photo, but we added Dazzling Diamonds to the sentiment.

Stamp Set: Oval All
Papers: Bella Rose DP, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Inks: Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa marker
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals.

Font of You

Happy Saturday! This is a card I CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything) from the Stampin Up Catalog and Idea Book. It was a card I made for a swap I participated in with other demonstrators in my upline, Dawn's group. We have another swap coming up next week and I can't wait! (gotta love new swaps!). This was an easy card to mass-produce, yet has enough detail to make it interesting. I popped up the vase with dimensionals for some added interest.

Materials to make this card:
Stamp Set: Font of You
Cardstock: Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss and Very Vanilla
Inks: same
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Word Window Punch, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, paper distresser (or edge of scissors)

Thanks for looking and Happy Stamping!
